I can honestly say that this has been one of the best weeks of my life. The ambiance, energy, and general feeling of camaraderie between the students and teachers alike were amazing. I learned so much from the teachers as well as the students, and I would recommend this camp to any young up-and-coming musician who enjoys good old blues. I want to thank everyone who was able to make this camp happen, as it was a truly memorable and amazing experience!

—     Dallas ‘‘Bad Boy’’Page, singer

The Blues Camp was an incredible experience. I’ll not only remember the teachers, who were amazing pros that we see everywhere on the Quebec music scene, but also the members of my group, who were all open and nice people. The tips I got from everyone at this camp will serve me throughout my life. I became a better drummer thanks to this camp, and learned to work in a group thanks to the time we spent on composition. There were some really unforgettable moments, like the jam session with Jim Zeller and the master class with Bob Harrison. But of course, the most unforgettable of all was the show. In short, the Blues Camp was an experience that I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

I had been meaning to send you a note to let you know what a great experience David had at the Camp de blues. His bass playing improved a lot, he met some new friends and maybe his French improved! Working with the talented teachers and performing on stage at the Festival were highlights for him.

Thanks again!

Thank you again so much for this unbelievable experience! I really had a great time during the week, and I hope maybe even to audition again next year with a new instrument.

—     Richard Hardy, saxophone player

I would like to thank you for this incredible experience at the Blues Camp, and of course, at the Festival! I took away so many good things from this week and learned a huge amount thanks to the teachers! I really appreciated the work put in by the entire team, who ensured that everything ran smoothly each day, from the moment we met the people in our group to the performances on the big stage.

The opportunity we had to play in front of thousands of people was largely thanks to the efforts of the TD team and all the much-appreciated organizers.

Unfortunately, I don’t play any other instrument so I won’t have the chance to return to the Camp next year, but I hope one day to cross paths with you again! That said, you might be meeting my sister, who plays guitar and electric bass.

—     Liana Saccal, drums

Thanks for this fantastic, intense blues week. All the techniques, types of blues scales and ways of expressing yourself in the blues were off great help to me. I already play classical and big band music, and now, with the Blues Camp, I’m able to dabble in the blues with my bass clarinet. It showed me during this wonderful week that it was also a good instrument for the blues. I made a whole bunch of new acquaintances who I’m sure I’ll see again down the road. It was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had.

I’d like to thank all the guest artists, all the teachers and the entire Blues Camp team, who gave us so many new experiences.

Thank you!
