Designed for aspiring young musicians ages 13 to 17, the Blues Camp offers teens an exceptional opportunity to take part in a week of high-level musical training devoted entirely to the blues and absolutely free!

Some 3,400 youngsters have auditioned for the camp in the past eleven years, and of them, 600 have been chosen to experience this incredible adventure. This once-in-a-lifetime Camp brings together music fans from all across Québec and even Ontario

Earning a chance at participating in the Blues Camp is simple. All you have to do is pass an audition of about 10 minutes: there are no set pieces of music you have to play and you don’t require an in-depth knowledge of the blues genre to be accepted (please view the explanatory videos by clicking on the “How to prepare” tab).

Based on the auditions, approximately 50 musicians are selected—including keyboard players, trumpeters, trombonists, drummers, guitarists, bass players, singers and harmonica players—to experience this intense week of musical dreams. The highlight is the final concert on the main stage of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, where our teens will interpret an existing piece of music and perform an original composition (music and lyrics) produced by the band they formed just a few days before.
